About Playwright MCP

Microsoft Playwright MCP lets an AI agent control a browser through Playwright and accessible page snapshots, so it can navigate websites, inspect page structure, click controls and verify interactions. It is useful for exploratory browsing and browser workflows that need persistent page context. The documented setup uses Node.js 18 or newer and supports MCP clients that can launch a stdio server.

Installation

Configure your MCP client to run `npx @playwright/mcp@latest` with Node.js 18 or newer. It uses stdio by default; the optional HTTP mode is intended for trusted local setups.
