About GitHub MCP Server
GitHub’s official MCP server connects AI clients to GitHub repository and collaboration workflows. Depending on the enabled toolsets and token permissions, agents can read repository files, work with issues and pull requests, and access other GitHub APIs. It can run locally over stdio or use GitHub’s hosted endpoint; available actions are controlled by the user’s authorization and server configuration.
Installation
Add `https://api.githubcopilot.com/mcp/` as an HTTP MCP server and sign in with GitHub OAuth. The local server also supports stdio OAuth or a personal access token; grant only the scopes you need.
